Nuno is currently doing a Phd at the University of Coimbra. In the past he was a Lecturer in Semiotics and Sociology of Art at IADE - Marketing, Design and Visual Arts Institute, where he graduated holding a MA in Communication Science. He was formally a journalist, editor, and cinema critic for the renowned Portuguese publications “O Independente”, “DNA – Diário de Notícias”, “A Capital”. He is a member of the Association and Publishing house Número – Arte e Cultura since 2002, where he directed and programmed the events, Número Projecta – International Festival of Multimédia Arts, Cinema and Music (Lisboa, 2006-08), Portuguese Festival – International Festival of Portuguese Culture and Art (London 2002-03, Barcelona 2004, Paris 2005, Madrid 2006 e Berlin 2007) and Interferencias – Event of Public Art (Lisbon and Porto, 2010-12).
Nuno has worked quite widely as a cultural producer, being the responsible for the curation and organisation of various exhibitions such as “Políptico”, “Onde é a China?”, Trienal no Alentejo, Mar e Montanha – Arte e Gastronomia no Algarve. He is also the editor and co-author of various publications, particularly the anthology “Portugal: A cinematographic portrait, Videoart, art film and the essay film in Portugal”
