Luis Alegre is an Artist, designer, editor and College professor. He holds a BA in Painting taken at the Escola Artística do Porto (1989). He then became interested in design, opening his own design company entitled “Ideias com Peso” in 1995. After two post graduations in that area`, he concluded his master (2006) and PhD (2012) at the Faculty of Arquitecture of the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (Technical University of Lisbon ).
He teaches since 1990, first at the Escola Superior de Conservação e Restauro, then at the Universidade Lusófona, since 1998. He delivers various modules connected with image analysis, design, photography, video, multimedia and digital animation.
Luis has worked as a graphic and communication designer, with various publishing houses. He is presently the creative director of LEYA groups and 20-20. Luis Alegre also founded the publishing house Stolen Books – Independent Book Publishers, dedicated to publishing artist books. As an artist, Luis Alegre exhibits since 1995.
